PIC Morse Code Reader
This project was started last year (2005) as the practical part of the PIC programming course by M0BLP. Unfortunately the original source code downloaded from the web failed to work correctly. It is currently being corrected and ported to the newer 16F87 device which also happens to be cheaper than the original 16F84. The code mentioned on this page is not finished yet, but has had a substantial number of comments added so it's much easier to see how it is supposed to work. I believe the problem area is adaption of the dit/dah threshold at start up.

27th Jan 2006
This project is "work in progress". I still have many experiments to do to get the code right, but it's certainly looking a lot better than it did just a couple of weeks ago.
